Choosing & Buying A DIY Conservatory:
How It Works

Buying your new DIY Conservatory from Swift Conservatory Solutions clearly saves you thousands of pounds when compared to a retail installed price. You may think however that tackling such a large DIY project is very stressful and difficult. We at Swift Conservatories have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the whole process is as simple, stress free and enjoyable as possible. We will help you every step of the way and will share your immense feeling of satisfaction when your new DIY Conservatory is complete.

Below is a step by step guide to buying your beautiful new DIY Conservatory Kit from Swift Conservatory Solutions Ltd

1. Choose Your DIY Conservatory Design

Deciding on the design of your new DIY Conservatory is an important part of the process. You will need to consider some or all of the following:

• What will the conservatory be used for?
  
  Additional living space? A dining room? A playroom? A home office / study? As part of a kitchen extension?
  
  
• What size of conservatory do you need / want?
  
  Consider the impact this will have on your garden and the aesthetics of your property.
  
  
• The DIY conservatory style
  
  Ensure that this is in keeping with your property. Traditional lean to & Edwardian styles usually suit modern homes, whilst Victorian and Pavillion (Gabled) styles suit older properties - if you are unsure which style will best suit your home please contact us.
  
  
• The window frame style
  
  There are 3 options available:
  • Dwarf Wall
    
  • Full Height Glass
    
  • Full Height Glass With Lower Infills
    
• The number and position of opening windows and doors within the Conservatory
  
  It is important to have as much ventilation as possible so please ensure that you request a suitable amount of opening windows. We can advise on this if required. It is also important to position the doors correctly to ensure that you maximise the living space whilst having the best possible access to the garden.

2. Request Your DIY Conservatory Quote Online

Once you have an idea in your mind as to the conservatory you may require please complete the online quote request form and we will get back to you within 24 hours with your detailed quote. We may contact you by telephone to have a chat and establish your exact Conservatory requirements but we will never pester our customers with unwanted telephone calls.

If you do not want to complete the form then please use our call back service and we will contact you to discuss and take all the information we need to be able to generate your DIY conservatory quotation.

Your detailed DIY Conservatory Quotation will be sent to you by email within 24 hours along with some images to help you visualise how your conservatory will look.

Once you have received your Conservatory quote please don’t hesitate to contact us if it needs amending in any way. We are more than happy to change or re-design the conservatory until it is exactly as you want it!

3. How To Order Your DIY Conservatory

Once you are happy with the design, style, specification and price of your new DIY Conservatory you will need to contact us by telephone or email to place the order.

To secure your conservatory order we will need to take a 25% deposit. Payment can be made by credit/debit card or bank transfer. We will contact you at a later date to inform you when the final payment is due.

As with all other aspects of ordering a DIY Conservatory from Swift we take away all the stress and hassle. We will complete the order forms and send them along with detailed drawings which will enable you to double check that the Conservatory will fit. Once these drawings/documents are returned signed we will place the orders with the suppliers. You can then pass the base/dwarf wall plans to your designated builder to allow him to commence the build.

Brick samples or polycarbonate samples will be despatched on request to any customers who are unsure which option to choose for their new DIY Conservatory.

What Happens Next?

Your DIY Conservatory and Easybase (if ordered) will be delivered approximately 28 days after the order is placed. Easybase and the Conservatory manufacturer have very similar lead times which mean that they are usual both delivered in the same week. However, if you prefer we can arrange for the Easybase to be delivered the week before the Conservatory to allow you adequate time to install it prior to the conservatory delivery.

If you have ordered the Easybase and you are employing a builder or doing the project as DIY you will be sent a concrete pad plan around three weeks prior to delivery which will allow you time to prepare the site in advance.

If you have arranged a Swift-Fit installation the plan will be sent to the relevant installer.

Within days of the Conservatory Supplier receiving the order the Transport Department will contact you to inform you of the week commencing date for delivery. They will then contact you nearer the delivery date to inform you what day within the week the conservatory will be delivered. On the day of delivery the driver will contact you to give you regular updates of progress so you have an accurate estimated delivery time. This then allows you to carry on with your daily routine with as little disruption as possible.

We believe our delivery service is second to none. A dedicated vehicle and two man delivery team will deliver your DIY conservatory and place it exactly where you want it storing. Your only job will be to provide a suitable space for the DIY conservatory to be placed.

You are now ready to commence your DIY Conservatory build. The instructions for the Conservatory and the Easybase will be in the clearly marked packages and we recommend that you take the time to read through and familiarise yourself with the build process. You can of course do this before the conservatory is delivered by downloading the relevant documents from our Resource Centre. The videos within the Resource Centre will also help you familiarise yourself with the process.
